Sele Priory.

Sele Priory, Upper Beeding in West Sussex.

I am about to start work on the site of the Priory to try and locate the Water Mill that once stood there.
The mill was recorded as being in use in the 1500s, but no mention of it in later records, it is hopped that by using resitivity I will be able to locate this lost Mill.
The Mill would have been built around 1200s, and was one of several that were built along the Adur River, being tidal it was ideal for the workings of a water Mill , mill ponds could be filled up with the turning tides, to allow for more or less continues working of the mill.
